Komping Pouy, Battambang

Komping Pouy is 45 minutes Wast of Battambang. You can get there by taking the National Hwy 57 and after you pass Phnom Sampow,  which will be to your left, you will come to Komping Pouy Rd. Make a right and follow this road until you come to Komping Pouy Lake which is where I took these pictures.

This place is known by many of the locales to be a place to hang out and be with friends and family. They have places on the edge of the water with straw roofs where you can sit on mats and order food and beer. The senery is great here and when I was there, there was a nice cool wind blowing. You will notice the food here cost a lil more than what you are use to paying in the city, but it's normal here. So don't think the locals are trying to over charge you. I did at first.

Also here, you can rent boats for 10 bucks. The ride is anywhere from 30 to 45 minutes, which the pilot of the boat will circle the lake giving you a pleasant view of some nice scenery. I really enjoyed coming here, and the boat ride was awesome. Like I said, the boat was 10 bucks but if you can wheel and deal, you can get on for 25,000 ($6.25) to 30,000 ($7.50) reil. So if your looking to explore one of Battambang's highlights, I suggest you visit this place for a peace and enjoyable time.

Cafe Eden in Battambang

This place is one of my favorite spots to grab a beer and chill out. This place is located on Street 1 in between 119th and 121th street. From 3 pm to 7 pm, happy hour is in effect so you can get a glass of ice cold beer for .50 cents. They also have a good selection of good coffee and a menu that can satisfy the most picky. The food is mostly western but that's what I like about it.  They have a breakfast menu, salad menu, sandwiches and great appetizers. So if your new to Battambang, don't forget to stop by here and enjoy the nice atmosphere. The upstairs area is air conditioned and since it's located on street #1, you get to see the busy people of Battambang go about their daily lives. The place offers free Wi-Fi and the person that runs this place is a nice women. Cafe Eden Contact: Tel: (053) 73 1525 Email: cafeedencambodia@gmail.com Website: www.cafeedencambodia.com

Gecko Cafe In Battambang

(Updated) The Gecko has moved to street #1 and is now called The Kitchen.   Food Gecko Cafe is located on the corner of Street 3 and 119. The place sits atop Gecko Moto's. I visit this place lot's of times during my stay in Battambang and when it comes to wanting a little western taste, this is one of my favorite spots. They serve good western food including burgers, pizza, salads and more. They also have Mexican food ranging from tacos to burritos and more. The Taco salad I had last was great and reminded me of home a little. Also, being in Cambodia, you can't forget about the Khmer dishes. I haven't tried alot of Khmer food here but I can say that the fried rice was good. They also serve some alcohol drinks. Besides being a little pricey for the locals, the money you pay for food here is well worth it. So enjoy! Service Another thing I like here is the service. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by someone and  o
