A young mechanic in Phnom Penh may have known how to fix motorbikes, but he couldn’t prevent being tricked out of his own. Police arrested a 25-year-old man on Thursday for “borrowing” the mechanic’s bike, supposedly to buy medicine for his sick daughter, and never returning it. After waiting several minutes, the suspect flew into a rage, grabbed one of the vendor’s cleavers and destroyed the vendor’s motorbike before turning on the vendor himself. A 38-year-old man was arrested on Friday night after he and another man allegedly stole a mobile phone from a woman in Phnom Penh’s Daun Penh district. Police said the woman was walking with two other men when the suspects approached her, pointed a gun at her and escaped with her phone.
