After being denied, one of the workers left in a rage, only to return with a cleaver, which he used to hack his boss’s arms and legs. Police are now on the hunt for the 24-year-old farmhand and the victim is recuperating in hospital. Koh Santepheap

Cops end short-lived  joyride for moto thief
A Takeo province construction worker couldn’t resist the temptation to heist a lonely- looking motorbike on Friday, but it turned out to be a short-lived gain. Police said the bike’s owner had walked 100 metres from the bike to inspect his rice field when the thief took the opportunity to hop on the bike and skedaddle. Unfortunately for him, he didn’t go far enough to avoid cops who had received the stolen-moto complaint. He confessed after capture, citing low wages as the reason for the theft. Koh Santepheap

Gecko Cafe In Battambang

(Updated) The Gecko has moved to street #1 and is now called The Kitchen.   Food Gecko Cafe is located on the corner of Street 3 and 119. The place sits atop Gecko Moto's. I visit this place lot's of times during my stay in Battambang and when it comes to wanting a little western taste, this is one of my favorite spots. They serve good western food including burgers, pizza, salads and more. They also have Mexican food ranging from tacos to burritos and more. The Taco salad I had last was great and reminded me of home a little. Also, being in Cambodia, you can't forget about the Khmer dishes. I haven't tried alot of Khmer food here but I can say that the fried rice was good. They also serve some alcohol drinks. Besides being a little pricey for the locals, the money you pay for food here is well worth it. So enjoy! Service Ano...

The White Rose in Battambang

The White Rose is Khmer owned and is located on the corner of St 121 and Road 2.5. This place serves good Khmer dishes for reasonable prices and some western foods. They also serve some of the best shakes in town. This place has a balcony, patio area which visitors can sit and watch the streets below where vendors sell their wares to those walking the streets. The White Rose also has a nice desert menu and ice cream that reminds me of home. This place also offers free Wi-Fi. Cleanness When the day starts of here, the place is set nice, with your typical glass, silver ware wrapped in cloth and set up nicely on the tables. I guess when this place gets real busy, the place starts looking neglected due to short of workers and the many things that are going on. To me, I think the place is under staffed and would probably run better if they were up to pace with workers. But besides that, everything else is typical Cambodia so if you don't mind that, then everything s...
