Water Festival brings tourist surge in provinces | Business

Since the cancellation of one of Cambodia's known festival, many have traveled to the beach to enjoy some water excitement and more with their families and friends. Usually, this time of year, many travel to different places like Phnom Penh, Siem Reip, and Battambang to check out the boat races but since the passing of the late King, boat racing was cancelled and many had to find other sources of entertainment. Police Blotter: 30 Nov 2012

Drinking buddies become moto thieves Four teenagers were arrested on Wednesday after they and three other men allegedly stole a motorbike from four men in Kandal’s Takhmao town. Police said that the suspects shared a drink with their victims on Tuesday and then followed them home. The four were less happy to see them the second time, especially when the youngsters attacked them with rocks and wooden sticks and left them bike-less. The victims reported the theft to police, who are searching for the three attackers still on the run. Nokorwat Wedding booze leads bunch to bash guests An occasion of joy transformed into a brawl while wedding guests looked on in Stung Treng’s Siem Bok district on Tuesday. Police said that after celebrating a couple’s nuptials with a good helping of beer, five young men got into an argument with two other wedding guests. Soon, the quaffing quintet decided to hammer home their point by beating the duo with plastic chairs and wooden sticks. The m

Villagers bemoan scant information on dam project | National news

I think these people have a right to be worried after all the unjust things that's been happening here in Cambodia. We can only hope that this will be handled in a peaceful manner with both parties happy with the outcome. But for some reason, I really doubt that this process will go smoothly. What do you think? Bank of China funds new cement factory | Business

And finally! Some great news! With this, I'm hoping they will start working on the drainage system especially the ones in Battambang. This will also provide jobs for those looking for work and help boost the economy because Cambodia sure does need it. I also hope this is good news for road construction because I really think these dirt roads have to go. Bank of China funds new cement factory | Business

Meth dealers smoked out by police | National news

Another large scale drug bust. Just reading what the police confiscated from this guy lets us know that he was probably one of the top dogs in the drug scene. It is good that police are cracking down on drug dealers because if many of you have paid any attention to the younger generation, you will see that alot of them have turned to doing the same thing this guy was busted for to make money. Hopefully this sends a message to those but I really doubt it. Meth dealers smoked out by police | National news

Cambodian ex-king Norodom Sihanouk to be cremated on Feb 4

Kings, Queens, and politics was really never my thing. Many younger Khmer's seem to respect this man and others that fled the country during the Khmer Rouge times hate him. Either way, a person will either be remembered for the good he did or the bad he did. Feb. 4th is still a long way off and all I'm wondering is how they kept his body preserved for this long?
