FILM ''CRUMB'' at Make Maek, on sat..27th oct...7pm

''This movie chronicles the life and times of R. Crumb. Robert Crumb is the cartoonist/artist who drew Keep On Truckin', Fritz the Cat, and played a major pioneering role in the genesis of underground comix. Through interviews with his mother, two brothers, wife, and ex- girlfriends, as well as selections from his vast quantity of graphic art, we are treated to a darkly comic ride through one man's subconscious mind. As stream-of-consciousness images incessantly flow forth from the tip of his pen, biting social satire is revealed, often along with a disturbing and haunting vision of Crumb's own betes noires and inadequacies. As his acid-trip induced images flicker across our own retinas, we gain a little insight into this complex and highly creative individual''

Delux Villa In Battambang

A few days back, me and a friend decided to go out and check  out the new Delux Villa to see what that place had to offer beside some really expensive rooms. To our surprise, when we got there, we met with the owner and he was happy to give us the grand tour of the place. I think he showed us close to 8 different rooms and explained that every room was designed differently according to culture. If my eyes were not deceiving me, all rooms are air conditioned and hanging on the wall are some 45 inch flat screen T.V.s for your viewing pleasure. This place also has a mini bar and by saying that, he is looking for a bartender so if you got the experience, he is willing to talk about pay and maybe benefits. Prices on rooms? Well that's a whole different story. Do you have couple hundred dollars to throw away a night? If you do, this place is for you. They take your money and make you feel happy about giving it to them. I mean this is one of the best hotels that I have seen in Battam...

Stolen Bike in Battambang

Just checked the feed for Battambang connect and saw that Steph Belfield has lost his nice mountain bike. If you can help the guy out, please do so. It's sad that peoples have to deal with theft, but we just got to be careful for their are those that will steal anything, including my ball cap right from my window when I was relaxing in bed.   "Hi All, this is a cry for help. My mountain bike was stolen from my house last night, so I am asking as many people as possible to keep an eye out for it. It is a charcoal, black and white Cannondale mountain bike and I think it is the only one in town. I have the serial number and sales receipt to prove it is mine if we find it. It is my pride and joy and only mode of transport so I would really appreciate your help. A reward will be offered for its safe return.   Photo is attached at the time of purchase minus the accessories (it now has stand, mudguards, speedo, reflector, drink bottle holder etc) which t...

Cafe Eden in Battambang

This place is one of my favorite spots to grab a beer and chill out. This place is located on Street 1 in between 119th and 121th street. From 3 pm to 7 pm, happy hour is in effect so you can get a glass of ice cold beer for .50 cents. They also have a good selection of good coffee and a menu that can satisfy the most picky. The food is mostly western but that's what I like about it.  They have a breakfast menu, salad menu, sandwiches and great appetizers. So if your new to Battambang, don't forget to stop by here and enjoy the nice atmosphere. The upstairs area is air conditioned and since it's located on street #1, you get to see the busy people of Battambang go about their daily lives. The place offers free Wi-Fi and the person that runs this place is a nice women. Cafe Eden Contact: Tel: (053) 73 1525 Email: cafeedencambodia@gmail.com Website: www.cafeedencambodia.com

Green Mango In Battambang

Large full air-conditioned restaurant and bakery located on the New Bridge Road about 50 meters west of the river, near Park Hotel. Offering a nice selection of western, American and Mexican breakfasts and lunches - Granola, eggs and potatoes, biscuits and sausage gravy, burgers, meatloaf, pizzas, burritos, tacos and more. A few Khmer dishes as well. Fresh baked cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, breads. Wifi. Delivery. I was able to pay them a visit for the first time and ordered me a Hamburger. The Hamburger was good and so they can expect me back sometime in the near future to try out more of their menu.  From my experience today, I can say that this place has a nice atmosphere. Like I said before, this  place has AC for those hot humid days when your trying to cool off, and the employees seem to be responsive, meaning the service is good. I don't really want to put down my full review since this was my first visit, but I will, as soon as I ca...

Budget Cambodia is a paradise for budget travelers. In Phnom Penh, it's possible to limit daily expenses to $12 if you are very thrifty. In the capital or in Siem Reap, the price of budget accomodation doesn't exceed $3 to $5 per day. For middle ranged accomodation, expect to pay between $9 and $14. In smaller non-touristic towns, expect to spend around $7. Food is as cheap as accomodation, so it's possible to eat decently for around $4 per day.
