Gecko Cafe In Battambang

(Updated) The Gecko has moved to street #1 and is now called The Kitchen.
 Food

Gecko Cafe is located on the corner of Street 3 and 119. The place sits atop Gecko Moto's. I visit this place lot's of times during my stay in Battambang and when it comes to wanting a little western taste, this is one of my favorite spots. They serve good western food including burgers, pizza, salads and more. They also have Mexican food ranging from tacos to burritos and more. The Taco salad I had last was great and reminded me of home a little. Also, being in Cambodia, you can't forget about the Khmer dishes. I haven't tried alot of Khmer food here but I can say that the fried rice was good. They also serve some alcohol drinks. Besides being a little pricey for the locals, the money you pay for food here is well worth it. So enjoy!

Service

Another thing I like here is the service. When you walk in, you are immediately greeted by someone and  offered a place to sit and a menu. Me personally, I love to sit outside and enjoy the view and see whats going on below. Most the girls that work here are still in school and working to support both themselves and their families. They are very friendly and always ready to assist you if you need anything. So if you can, it doesn't hurt to leave a little tip.

Atmosphere

This place has a great out side balcony area where most the tables are. You and your friends and family can sit and enjoy your food outside while watching the busy life of the Khmer's go by. Of corse there's an inside area and seating depends on you, and how you want to spend your time there.

Open Kitchen

Gecko Cafe is unique for their open kitchen so don't hesitate to go back there and meet the staff that is cooking your food. The place is kept nice and clean compared to some places you will visit but don't take my word for it. Check it out yourself!

Gecko Cafe Highlights: Free Wi-Fi, Good Food, Great Service.

My Review:
Food: 4 of 5
Service: 5 of 5
Cleanness: 4 of 5
If you have been here, please don't hesitate to share your thought's in the comment section below.

  1. Must say I always have fun when I visit Gecko! The service is great and all things considered, it would have to be my favorite restaurant in Battambang. I love the fact that the menu is constantly evolving.

This Former Gang-Banger Is Banging Out Delicious Cubans in Cambodia

S ix years ago, Ry Mam boarded an international flight from LAX with three other Cambodians and two US marshals. “If any of you try to run, we’ll shoot you,” one of the marshals told the Cambodians. Mam thought that was strange—they were on an airplane and, anyway, he could have run a long time ago.

Phnom Sampov

Phnom Sampoue is a natural resort located along the National Road No 57 at Sam Pouy Commune, approximately 12- kilometers  from the province town of Battambang. On top of this mountain are three temple sites and 3 natural water wells, namely Pkar Slar, Lo Khoun, Ak So Pheak. Also, next to Sam Pouy mountain, there are other main mountains sites like Phnom Trung Moan, Phnom Trung Tea, Phnom Neang Rum Say Sork. These mountains are related to the folk legend of Reach Kol Neang Run Say Sork. I have been to this place once and it is a nice place to visit. What I really liked was the little monkeys that don't seem to be afraid of those passing by.
