The White Rose in Battambang

The White Rose is Khmer owned and is located on the corner of St 121 and Road 2.5. This place serves good Khmer dishes for reasonable prices and some western foods. They also serve some of the best shakes in town. This place has a balcony, patio area which visitors can sit and watch the streets below where vendors sell their wares to those walking the streets. The White Rose also has a nice desert menu and ice cream that reminds me of home. This place also offers free Wi-Fi.

Cleanness

When the day starts of here, the place is set nice, with your typical glass, silver ware wrapped in cloth and set up nicely on the tables. I guess when this place gets real busy, the place starts looking neglected due to short of workers and the many things that are going on. To me, I think the place is under staffed and would probably run better if they were up to pace with workers. But besides that, everything else is typical Cambodia so if you don't mind that, then everything should be good.

 Service

Many have complained that the service here is slow and when I asked why, the owner told me that it's because they are short of staff. When I was there personally, I experienced slow service and many of the workers are kids that are still in school that have no customer service skills. I went there tonight and had to wait 30 minutes for my shake and my buddy that I was with got his food before the visitors that was there before us. So if you have the time and you don't mind waiting, then this place is a place you should try out.
Restaurant High lights: Free Wi-fi, Great Shakes, Good time killer.

My Rating:
Food: 4 of 5
Service: 3 of 5
Cleanness: 3 of 5

  1. I have a family of 7 people from Phnom Penh to Battambang during Pchum Ben holiday. We have lunch at White Rose Restaurant. The food was done with reasonable time. Even though many customers in the restaurant, we don't wait so long. The food was very good, reasonable price, very nice fruit shake and ice scream. We often eat there when we go to Battambang.

Phnom Sampov

Phnom Sampoue is a natural resort located along the National Road No 57 at Sam Pouy Commune, approximately 12- kilometers  from the province town of Battambang. On top of this mountain are three temple sites and 3 natural water wells, namely Pkar Slar, Lo Khoun, Ak So Pheak. Also, next to Sam Pouy mountain, there are other main mountains sites like Phnom Trung Moan, Phnom Trung Tea, Phnom Neang Rum Say Sork. These mountains are related to the folk legend of Reach Kol Neang Run Say Sork. I have been to this place once and it is a nice place to visit. What I really liked was the little monkeys that don't seem to be afraid of those passing by.

This Former Gang-Banger Is Banging Out Delicious Cubans in Cambodia

S ix years ago, Ry Mam boarded an international flight from LAX with three other Cambodians and two US marshals. “If any of you try to run, we’ll shoot you,” one of the marshals told the Cambodians. Mam thought that was strange—they were on an airplane and, anyway, he could have run a long time ago.
