The Bamboo train has become an adventure for those seeking some excitement. As you can tell by this video, besides tourist who choose to ride for the pleasure of the thrill, Khmer's use this system to transport goods from one end of Battambang to the other. Unfortunately, word has it that this train won't be lasting long do to the approval of a new rail system that's being implemented in the country as I write.
Many have said that this is one of the highlights of Battambang, calling it a wild roller coaster ride. Some might agree but as for me, i'm hesitant when it comes to Cambodian ingenuity. So ride at your own risk.
With so many types of different places popping up in Battambang, there is no lack of finding whats right when it comes to food. Phnom Sampoue is a natural resort located along the National Road No 57 at Sam Pouy Commune, approximately 12- kilometers from the province town of Battambang. On top of this mountain are three temple sites and 3 natural water wells, namely Pkar Slar, Lo Khoun, Ak So Pheak. Also, next to Sam Pouy mountain, there are other main mountains sites like Phnom Trung Moan, Phnom Trung Tea, Phnom Neang Rum Say Sork. These mountains are related to the folk legend of Reach Kol Neang Run Say Sork. I have been to this place once and it is a nice place to visit. What I really liked was the little monkeys that don't seem to be afraid of those passing by.
